The Parish Council have identified a potential source of funding for a major project felt to provide a lasting, beneficial legacy for the community. Application is competitive with projects from other councils and there is no guarantee of success though the potential fund is substantial.
We are only at the exploration stage but are interested in views from the community.
This survey ran from early August to mid September - and asked for opinions on two key things:-
1) We have had suggestions for two specific projects in recent months – a community Kiln and pottery workshop and a Repair Shop style “Shed” project. It is thought these could be united into a “Crafting Workshop” providing a venue for activities not suited to the Villages Hall or Parish Rooms. We wish to assess levels of interest and support for such a project
2) We asked to hear any other thoughts of ideas for a significant new amenity
A copy of the form is included below.
A survey questionnaire was distributed to households and publicised on the website and social media. Returns were by means of the online form, e-mail to the parish council and physical forms collected from the views boxes in Bishampton and Throckmorton or passed to councillors.
CONCLUSIONS
The level of support for the Crafting Centre idea suggests that it at least warrants further exploration, with a working objective of formulating a suitable project to bid for legacy funding.
The other ideas particularly Community Orchard and Community Produce Garden/ allotments can be considered further for other funding opportunities.
Thank you for your response.
The survey results will be published in due course
