The website is designed to be a resource for the community, to provide useful news and information about the villages, local amenities and services and to promote activities, events and opportunities for people to engage with others and with the life of the community.
We also aim to provide a way for residents to find out about the work of the Parish Council and it's role in both safeguarding and enhancing our rural environment.
The Parish Council exists to represent the community and take actions and decisions which they believe to be in the best interests of local residents and the local environment. That is much easier to achieve when the council has a good understanding of the feelings and concerns of local residents.
The website is one of several channels of communication through which the Council is continually seeking to improve it's engagement with the rest of the community. Other channels are:-
- Quarterly Newsletter
- Welcoming the public to Parish Council meetings
- "Community Views" boxes in Bishampton Stores and the Phone Box in Throckmorton
- Presence at Local events
- Bishampton Cares coffee morning
- Regularly updated contact details and e-mail channels
- Social media
The website, remodeled in 2019, continues to grow with more content being added regularly.
Featuring a section on the Parish Council
and it's work, with access to information and documents. The "Community Hub" is intended to provide all types of information, from amenities within the parishes and information on clubs societies and organisations you might wish to join, to details of public services, support and emergency services, contact details for doctors, dentists, schools etc.
An Events
section provides a diary of events taking place in the parishes, with additional information provided by by the organisations
themselves, whilst our Gallery provides many images from around the villages taken by local photographers. We also have sections devoted to News
and also to special topics of interest to the community, like the SWDPR proposals for the airfield.
