A Treadwell Family History from Bishampton
Material contributed by MR Mike Delaney

Mr M.P. Delaney contacted us a while ago having researched his family roots and traced a clear connection back to the Treadwell (Tredwell) family in Bishampton.
The last of the family residing in Bishampton was William "Gummy" Treadwell - formerly the village blacksmith, who died in 1965.

Having found two of the family are commemorated on the War memorial - Mr Delaney generously offered to donate a considerable sum of money to the project to clean the War Memorial.  We again express our gratitude to him for this kind gesture.

The names commemorated on the Memorial are G. Treadwell and J. Treadwell

The following documents appear with permission of Mr Delaney and feature content from various sources credited in the documents  notably our own local history expert and former chair of the Bishampton History Society Mr Charles Rigg.
